About Us
Pioneering spaces where singles are celebrated, not sidelined
Our mission is to bring hope, healing and restoration to singles.
We exist to affirm, celebrate and empower singles as an integral part of church and community life, through our core values: Advocacy, Community and Education.
The Well, Where Singles Lives MatterTM was founded on the growing need for spaces where singles are valued and supported in church and community settings.
Rooted in faith and driven by compassion, we partner with churches, communities, and organisations to address the realities of singleness with honesty, dignity, and strength.
Since our launch in December 2023, we’ve hosted workshops, awareness services, retreats and created resources to affirm and empower singles.
The Well is not about running ‘programmes for singles’ but about supporting & sustaining singles, just as water sustains life.
Our Journey So Far...
Since our launch, The Well has grown into a movement that challenges assumptions and uplifts single lives. Over the last two years, we have hosted:
18 Chill, Chat & Chocolate gatherings offering safe spaces for honest conversations, to just chill & chat.
Hosting events that support local small businesses in the community
Several social events to help with social isolation and building a community
6 practical workshops equipping individuals
6 Singleness Awareness Services held in partnership with local churches
Our first Singles Appreciation Service was held August 2025, with plans to host annually
Ongoing ‘Check-in’ pastoral support for the sick, bereaved and those struggling
Our first retreat – ‘Be Made Whole’ offered space for reflection, renewal, and rest
‘Be Made Whole’ Devotional & Journal launch to inspire, encourage singles in their everyday life
The Well aims to become a national voice for singles, helping churches and communities embrace this vital part of their life together.
Meet the Founder
Angela is the founder and CEO of The Well, a community leader and advocate for singles’ equality and inclusion. As an upcoming ordained minister (October 2025) and PhD researcher exploring Black British women and singleness in Church and community, she brings together personal passion, scholarship, ministry, and lived experience to shape a movement that is both practical and prophetic.
Her vision is simple yet bold, to ensure that singles are not overlooked but recognised, supported and celebrated as an integral part of church and society.
Our founder has already spoken at retreats, led Singleness Awareness Services, and facilitated workshops and gatherings. With ongoing doctoral research and ministry training, she brings both experiences and fresh evidenced-based insights to every talk.
